Another Saint Alight

Additional information

Dimensions 3 × 11 × 11 in

Cast and hand painted lead female saint from Ecuador pleads upward on a crushed red-velvet backing in a silver and gold metal leafed round frame. 100 LED "rice" lights surround the inside and backside of the frame.

Acquired in Ecuador by my wife, I framed the painted lead bas relief of an unknown saint in a silver painted round frame we found in a thrift shop, Boomerangs, in Jamaica Plain, MA, owned and operated by AIDS Action, a provider of HIV prevention and wellness services. While it’s not likely that this relief represents Aloysius de Gonzaga, weirder things have happened.
