A used wooden salad bowl lined with gold-metal leaf orbits three hand-hammered, acid etched and engraved aluminum armatures, suspending three ceramic E26 sockets and three 11" long vintage style 40-watt incandescent bulbs. The pendant hangs on stainless steel cable, and vintage style red-rayon wrapped electrical wire lazily ascends the cable to the engraved and etched aluminum ceiling plate.
I found this salad bowl in a thrift store. I don’t know why it was here, as it was in perfect condition and well made. It struck me as a good start for a dining table pendant. The aluminum was scrap left over from another project. I crated it and sent it insured to an old friend who was a major science fiction fan. When I came to visit, I found that they never hung it and no one mentioned it during the visit.
