500 variable brightness warm white "rice" LEDs on a welded steel armature rise in a spray from a vintage variable pattern fireman's nozzle of chrome plated steel and cast brass parts. The 140-year-old base is carved from a retired floor joist in our firehouse and contains the electronics that control the LEDs. The LEDs produce enough light to read by with no other lighting, but your mother would complain.
